公路總局四區養護工程處處長廖吳章指出，周末襲台的寒流，目前預計可能造成「台7線北橫公路巴陵-明池路段」、「台7甲宜蘭支線南山-張良橋路段」、「台8線中橫公路碧綠溪-慈恩路段」等3處路面結冰，工程處昨傍晚已成立應變中心，同時派機具進駐上述3路段隨時應變，屆時請上山民眾替車輛加掛雪鍊，並配合現場人員指示。

年節將至，公路總局為了因應大量車潮湧入宜蘭的交通尖峰，昨公布宜蘭地區春節疏運計畫，除了密集的國道客運班次，也推出7條郵輪式客運專車，鼓勵民眾搭乘大眾交通工具，也有相關APP提供民眾隨時查看路況與客運資訊。另外，這波寒流可能造成山區路面結冰，提醒民眾配合管制措施。

春節車潮高峰預計出現在2月5日與2月14日、15日，易塞車路段為礁溪路段、蘇花路段與南澳平交道路段，公路總局於這些路段前後，機動調派移動式電子可變標誌車，提供用路人即時路況資訊，提前改道分流，同時也有「省道即時交通資訊」、「iBus」等APP查詢路況與客運搭乘資訊。
